# Modules — what Beacon works out for you, area by area

> The ten families of modules in Beacon, the question each module answers, and which modules are available today.

A **module** is one piece of intelligence in Beacon. Each one answers one question about your business — *Can I trust this number? Which groups of customers behave differently? Who might leave, and why?* — from the tools you have connected. Beacon has **102 modules**, grouped into **ten families**.

Every module works the same way:

* **It switches on by itself** when the tools it needs are connected. You do not install modules one by one.
* **It reads your tools and never changes your records.**
* **It always says how complete it is.** When a tool is missing, a module shows less. It never fills the gap with a guess.
* **Its numbers come from fixed, written rules**, so the same data always gives the same answer. Beacon's AI explains and suggests; it does not make up figures.

<Note>
  Which modules are running for your company depends on which tools you have connected. The **Modules** page in The Brain shows each module's live state for you — live, running with gaps, not measured yet, or coming — what it still needs, and when it last ran. This page describes what exists. That page shows what is running for you.

## How the families fit together

The **Shared foundation** comes first, because every other module reads it: your joined-up customer records, their segments, the quality of the data, and the signals in it. The next three families follow your customers' journey — **Marketing** finds them, **Sales** wins them, **Customer** keeps and grows them. **Finance** turns all of that into company figures. **Lifecycles**, **Work orchestration** and **Workforce & capacity** cover the work and the people behind your revenue. **Capital** and **Investor network** cover raising money and sharing with the people who back you.

We are building the families in this order: the Shared foundation first, then Sales, Customer, Marketing and Lifecycles. Finance comes after those.

In the tables below, **Available** means the module's page is live in Beacon today. **Coming** means it is not built yet; it switches on by itself when it is ready. Where a module is available but part of it is not calculated yet, the table says which part.

## Shared foundation — 8 modules

The base every other module reads: your customer records, how they are matched across your tools, their signals, segments, data quality and fit.
